R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Staff members from the Department of Aging and
  Disability Services provided vital assistance to the 83rd Texas
  Legislature in its consideration of House Bills 2673, 2683, and
  3196 as well as on appropriations measures concerning the
  department; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout the legislative process, the DADS staff
  were always available, able, and willing to supply detailed and
  pertinent information, particularly with respect to the agency's
  operations and budget needs; and
         WHEREAS, The dedicated personnel who provided assistance
  with the budget include: Jon Weizenbaum, commissioner, James
  Jenkins, chief financial officer, David Cook, director of budget
  and data management, Chris Adams, deputy commissioner, Kristi
  Jordan, associate commissioner, Cindy Nottingham, manager of
  government relations, Cory Elder, government relations specialist,
  and Allison Lowery, director of the Center for Consumer and
  External Affairs; and
         WHEREAS, In the consideration of H.B. 2673, relating to the
  protection and care of individuals with intellectual and
  developmental disabilities, assistance was provided by: Cindy
  Nottingham, manager of government relations, Carol
  Sanchez-Cuellar, government relations specialist, Chris Adams,
  deputy commissioner, Joe Vesowate, assistant commissioner of state
  supported living centers, Lynn Blackmore, director of the Center
  for Policy and Innovation, and Lorri Haden, attorney; and
         WHEREAS, With respect to H.B. 2683, relating to employment in
  certain consumer-directed services and by certain facilities and to
  the nurse aide registry and the employee misconduct registry,
  assistance was provided by: Cindy Nottingham, manager of government
  relations, Carol Sanchez-Cuellar, government relations specialist,
  April Young, government relations specialist, Dana McGrath,
  director of regulatory services, licensing, and credentialing,
  Veronda Durden, assistant commissioner of regulatory services,
  Elizabeth Jones, program specialist, Chris Adams, deputy
  commissioner, Don Henderson, program specialist, Bill Buida,
  attorney, Flora Fearon, attorney, David Latimer, program
  specialist, and Susan Davis, director of regulatory services,
  enforcement operations; and
         WHEREAS, Concerning H.B. 3196, relating to licensing and
  certification requirements for certain health facilities and to the
  allocation of Medicaid beds in certain of those facilities and
  increasing fees, assistance was provided by: Cindy Nottingham,
  manager of government relations, April Young, government relations
  specialist, Dana McGrath, director of regulatory services,
  licensing, and credentialing, Veronda Durden, assistant
  commissioner of regulatory services, Susan Davis, director of
  regulatory services, enforcement operations, and Bill Buida,
  attorney; and
         WHEREAS, Each of these individuals demonstrated the utmost
  professionalism and commitment to excellence, and their
  exceptional thoroughness and diligence proved invaluable during
  the legislature's deliberations; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commend the members of the Department of Aging
  and Disability Services staff who provided vital assistance to the
  83rd Texas Legislature and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the department staff as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
