R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The trustees of the Valley View Independent School |
|
|
District in Hidalgo County have made notable contributions to their |
|
|
community through their dedicated efforts to ensure a quality |
|
|
education for area students; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, These experienced public officials are responsible |
|
|
for managing an annual budget of $49 million and overseeing a |
|
|
district that encompasses 730 teachers and more than 4,700 students |
|
|
across eight campuses; under their guidance, Valley View ISD has |
|
|
excelled in its educational mission and recently became one of the |
|
|
limited number of districts that have met the Adequate Yearly |
|
|
Progress accountability criteria; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Valley View school board includes president Jose |
|
|
A. Rosillo, vice president Noe Reyes, secretary Frank Jimenez, |
|
|
assistant secretary Lucio B. Villagomez, and members Efrain Perez, |
|
|
Prisciliano Trevino, and Juan A. Pimentel; together, the trustees |
|
|
have served the district for a total of 75 years, and their |
|
|
knowledge and insight have benefited the Valley View schools in |
|
|
countless ways; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each of these distinguished Texans demonstrates a |
|
|
truly exemplary commitment to the district's students, and their |
|
|
outstanding work is greatly appreciated by area residents; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor the members of the Valley View Independent |
|
|
School District Board of Trustees for their service to the |
|
|
community and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success in their important duties; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the members of the board as an expression of high |
|
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
