R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Acclaimed Texas singer and songwriter Miranda
  Lambert has added further luster to her stellar career by winning in
  three categories at the 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards; and
         WHEREAS, For the fourth year in a row, Ms. Lambert was named
  Female Vocalist of the Year, and the song "Over You," which she
  wrote with her husband, Blake Shelton, won Song of the Year and
  Single Record of the Year; "Over You" was also Song of the Year at
  the Country Music Association Awards in November 2012; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Beverly and Richard Lambert of
  Lindale, Miranda Leigh Lambert began performing at a young age,
  singing in local restaurants; she was fronting her own band by high
  school, and in 2003, her appearance on the reality show Nashville
  Star led to the release the following year of Kerosene, her
  platinum-selling first album; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Lambert has gone on to become one of the most
  popular and acclaimed songwriters and performers in country music
  today; her albums Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Revolution, and Four the
  Record, as well as her recording with the country girl group Pistol
  Annies, Hell on Heels, have won her critical acclaim, commercial
  success, and countless awards from the Academy of Country Music,
  the Country Music Association, and the Grammy Awards; and
         WHEREAS, Miranda Lambert has garnered millions of fans across
  the nation and around the world, but no one takes greater pride in
  her ever-expanding list of achievements than the people of the Lone
  Star State; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Miranda Lambert on her success at
  the 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards and extend to her sincere
  best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Lambert as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
