R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Patricia Serviere of Lamar Academy has been named
  the 2013 McAllen Independent School District Secondary Teacher of
  the Year; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Serviere earned a degree in mathematics from The
  University of Texas-Pan American and completed a master's degree at
  Texas State University; an educator for the past 13 years, she began
  her notable career with McAllen ISD at Morris Middle School in 2001
  and joined the faculty of Lamar Academy in 2008; and
         WHEREAS, With a teaching philosophy that emphasizes the
  inherent elegance of mathematics, Ms. Serviere often uses
  entertaining teaching methods to help her students relate to
  difficult concepts; in addition to her work inside the classroom,
  she has served as a University Interscholastic League math and
  calculator coach, a summer camp instructor, and an algebra textbook
  editor with Texas State University; and
         WHEREAS, Patricia Serviere has used her creativity and energy
  to inspire in her students a love of learning that will serve them
  well throughout their lives, and she is a source of pride to her
  school and her community; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Patricia Serviere on being named
  the 2013 McAllen Independent School District Secondary Teacher of
  the Year and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Serviere as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
