R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Patricia Serviere of Lamar Academy has been named |
|
|
the 2013 McAllen Independent School District Secondary Teacher of |
|
|
the Year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Serviere earned a degree in mathematics from The |
|
|
University of Texas-Pan American and completed a master's degree at |
|
|
Texas State University; an educator for the past 13 years, she began |
|
|
her notable career with McAllen ISD at Morris Middle School in 2001 |
|
|
and joined the faculty of Lamar Academy in 2008; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With a teaching philosophy that emphasizes the |
|
|
inherent elegance of mathematics, Ms. Serviere often uses |
|
|
entertaining teaching methods to help her students relate to |
|
|
difficult concepts; in addition to her work inside the classroom, |
|
|
she has served as a University Interscholastic League math and |
|
|
calculator coach, a summer camp instructor, and an algebra textbook |
|
|
editor with Texas State University; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Patricia Serviere has used her creativity and energy |
|
|
to inspire in her students a love of learning that will serve them |
|
|
well throughout their lives, and she is a source of pride to her |
|
|
school and her community; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Patricia Serviere on being named |
|
|
the 2013 McAllen Independent School District Secondary Teacher of |
|
|
the Year and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Serviere as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
