R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Veronica Vela-Whitacre was elected to the McAllen |
|
|
Board of Commissioners for District 6 on May 11, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Along with the mayor, the McAllen city commission is |
|
|
responsible for setting city policy, approving the annual budget, |
|
|
adopting city ordinances, and determining the tax rates; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Vela-Whitacre's hard work and expertise in a |
|
|
wide range of community issues have earned her the respect of the |
|
|
voters in District 6, and it is most fitting to take this |
|
|
opportunity to honor her; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Veronica Vela-Whitacre for winning |
|
|
election to the McAllen Board of Commissioners and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for success in her important work; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Vela-Whitacre as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
