R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Jose Romo of Edinburg High School earned distinction |
|
|
for himself and his school as the winner of the 2013 University |
|
|
Interscholastic League 5A Region IV championship in accounting; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The UIL accounting contest consists of 80 to 100 |
|
|
questions on the elementary principles and practices of accounting |
|
|
for sole proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations; students |
|
|
must demonstrate knowledge of bookkeeping terminology, balance |
|
|
sheets, bank reconciliation, and other items related to the basic |
|
|
accounting cycle; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Romo's triumph qualified him to compete in the |
|
|
UIL Academic State Meet held May 20-22 in Austin, where he tested |
|
|
his acumen against the top students in his field; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, To perform at the highest level in regional academic |
|
|
competition requires not only skill and intellect but also |
|
|
exceptional dedication, and Mr. Romo may reflect with pride on his |
|
|
notable accomplishment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jose Romo of Edinburg High School |
|
|
on winning the UIL 5A Region IV championship in accounting and |
|
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in his |
|
|
future endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Romo as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
