R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The State of Texas lost an esteemed businessman with
  the death of Eugene Joseph Eisenmann of Frisco, who passed away on
  May 19, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, A preeminent figure in the excess and surplus lines
  industry, Gene Eisenmann rose from humble beginnings to leadership
  of a prestigious insurance enterprise; highly respected by his
  peers, he was admired for a benevolent management style that
  achieved spectacular results while keeping sight of the fact that
  his customers and employees were human beings deserving of respect,
  and over the course of his life, he advanced the careers of hundreds
  of men and women through compassionate and skillful mentoring; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Eisenmann served as president and CEO of Stewart
  Smith Southwest from 1974 to 1992; he subsequently became the chair
  of Colemont Insurance Brokers, which he founded through a
  management buyout of Health Insurance Brokers and which he
  developed from a one-office operation in Dallas into one of the
  largest and most prominent E&S brokerage firms in the nation; he
  gave generously of his time and wisdom to professional
  organizations, serving as president of the National Association of
  Professional Surplus Lines Offices, as director and president of
  the Texas Surplus Lines Association, and as chair of the Surplus
  Lines Stamping Office of Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family, Gene Eisenmann was a
  loving husband to his wife, Denise, and he delighted in spending
  time with his treasured children and grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, With the passing of Gene Eisenmann, his profession
  has lost one of its giants, a visionary and thoughtful leader who
  reached the pinnacle of success through hard work and consummate
  expertise and who had a positive influence on the lives of all who
  were fortunate enough to know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Eugene Joseph
  Eisenmann and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family:
  to his wife, Denise; to his 4 children and 12 grandchildren; and to
  his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Gene
  Eisenmann.
