R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The girls' golf team of Trinity Christian Academy in |
|
|
Addison made an outstanding showing at the Texas Association of |
|
|
Private and Parochial Schools District 1-5A tournament on April 8, |
|
|
2013, at Tenison Highlands Golf Course in Dallas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ably guided by coach Mark Holliday, the TCA golfers |
|
|
compiled a total of 290 points to claim second place at the event; |
|
|
the team was paced by Courtney Dow, who shot a 76 and finished as |
|
|
runner-up in the individual standings; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Excelling as a result of a true team effort, the Lady |
|
|
Trojans also benefited from strong performances by the other |
|
|
members of the team; in addition to Ms. Dow, the 2013 roster |
|
|
includes Emily Calvert, Jennifer Harbour, Emma Liu, Emily Parnell, |
|
|
Rebecca Polk, Abby Selzer, Amanda Silvera, Cynthia Sloan, and |
|
|
Kathryn Springfield; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, These talented student-athletes have established |
|
|
themselves as one of the strongest golf teams in their district, and |
|
|
they are a source of great pride to their families and classmates; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Trinity Christian Academy |
|
|
girls' golf team on its second-place finish at the TAPPS District |
|
|
1-5A tournament and extend to the team's players, coaches, and |
|
|
staff sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
