R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The Pilot Point High School boys' track and field
  team claimed the District 12-2A championship with an outstanding
  performance at the district meet on April 11, 2013, in Van Alstyne;
  and
         WHEREAS, The Bearcats were paced by first-place showings in
  the shot put and discus by Jacob Allen, in the 300-meter hurdles by
  Austin Rider, and in the 200-meter dash by Ian Dietz, who also
  anchored the gold medal-winning squads in the 400-meter and
  800-meter relays; and
         WHEREAS, Under the guidance of coach Brian Kozma, the
  Bearcats finished the meet with a total of 187 points, more than
  doubling the tally of their closest competitor; and
         WHEREAS, Winning a district title is the culmination of
  countless hours of hard work and an unwavering commitment to
  excellence, and these talented student-athletes may take
  justifiable pride in their notable accomplishment; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Pilot Point High School boys'
  track and field team on winning the District 12-2A championship and
  extend to the team's athletes, coaches, and staff sincere best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
