R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
|
passing of Jackie Elizabeth Byrd of Frisco on April 12, 2013, at the |
|
|
age of 76; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Rubin Dalton and Leeola Mae Morgan, |
|
|
the former Jackie Morgan was born in Collin County on December 2, |
|
|
1936; she enjoyed a career as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal |
|
|
Service and was active in the congregation of First Baptist Church |
|
|
in Frisco; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, On March 3, 1953, she exchanged vows with Cecil |
|
|
Byrd, and together, the couple shared a rewarding marriage that |
|
|
spanned six decades; over the years, they were blessed with four |
|
|
children, Cindy, Jack, Barry, and Lucy, and later delighted in |
|
|
welcoming grandchildren and great-grandchildren into their family; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Jackie Byrd treasured the time she spent in the |
|
|
company of her loved ones, and those she leaves behind will in turn |
|
|
cherish their memories of this kind and caring woman; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jackie Elizabeth Byrd |
|
|
and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her |
|
|
husband, Cecil Byrd; to her children, Cindy Grounds, Jack "Bubba" |
|
|
Byrd and his wife, Donna, Barry Lee Byrd and his wife, Delania, and |
|
|
Lucy Rodriguez and her husband, Jessie; to her grandchildren, |
|
|
Natalie Pinkard, Amanda Byrd, Bobbie Grounds, Justin Stratton, |
|
|
Jennifer Lyles, Tiffany Rodriguez, Nicole Rodriguez, and Priscilla |
|
|
Ordonez; to her 12 great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives |
|
|
and many friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family, and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jackie |
|
|
Elizabeth Byrd. |
