R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Frisco City Council voted on May 7, 2013, to name
  a road in memory of former Frisco resident U.S. Army Corporal Peter
  John Courcy, who died serving his country in Afghanistan; and
         WHEREAS, Corporal Courcy was killed by a roadside bomb near
  Camp Salerno, Afghanistan, on February 10, 2009; a member of the
  101st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, he was 22
  years old, and he left behind his wife, Mara, his son, Anthony, his
  mother, Mary Bush, and his father, Jon Mitchell; and
         WHEREAS, Born at Fort Hood, Peter Courcy graduated in 2004
  from Frisco High School, where he was a wrestler and a hockey
  player; he enlisted in the army in 2006, inspired to serve by his
  grandfather, a veteran of the Vietnam War, and his uncle, who served
  in the Persian Gulf War; he was treasured by all who knew him for his
  warmth and sense of humor; and
         WHEREAS, In recognition of his sacrifice, the Frisco City
  Council elected to name the entry road to Frisco Commons as Cpl.
  Peter J. Courcy Circle, and this tribute by grateful citizens of
  his hometown represents a lasting remembrance of a courageous
  soldier who gave the last true measure of devotion; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the naming of Cpl. Peter J. Courcy
  Circle in Frisco and extend to Corporal Courcy's family sincere
  condolences for the loss of this beloved young man; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
  for Corporal Courcy's family and for the City of Frisco as an
  expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
