R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |
|
|
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and David and Donna |
|
|
Jeremiah are celebrating this joyous milestone in their marriage on |
|
|
June 29, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. David Jeremiah and the former Donna Thompson met |
|
|
in 1960 at Cedarville College in Ohio, where Dr. Jeremiah was a |
|
|
basketball player and Mrs. Jeremiah was a cheerleader; the couple |
|
|
graduated in 1963 and were joined in matrimony that same year; |
|
|
following in his father's footsteps, Dr. Jeremiah answered the call |
|
|
to the ministry, and the couple moved to Texas, where Dr. Jeremiah |
|
|
attended Dallas Seminary from 1963 to 1967; he later earned a doctor |
|
|
of divinity degree from Cedarville College; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Today, Dr. Jeremiah is the senior pastor of Shadow |
|
|
Mountain Community Church in El Cajon, California, and the creator |
|
|
of Turning Point Ministries, which broadcasts both radio and |
|
|
television programs around the world; he has been encouraged in his |
|
|
endeavors by Mrs. Jeremiah, a devoted homemaker who has traveled |
|
|
the world in support of her husband's work in the ministry; through |
|
|
the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family that |
|
|
includes 4 children, Janice, David Michael, Jennifer, and Daniel, |
|
|
as well as 11 grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. and Mrs. Jeremiah have enjoyed half a century of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an |
|
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate David and Donna Jeremiah on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Dr. and Mrs. Jeremiah as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
