R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Annie Truong is graduating as the valedictorian of
  the senior class of Sharpstown International School on June 8,
  2013; and
         WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only
  intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
  highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, Ms.
  Truong demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of
  subjects, and she has been recognized for her outstanding
  performance in government, biology, and algebra II; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Truong has further distinguished herself as
  treasurer of her school's chapter of the National Honor Society and
  as chief of staff of the Student Government Association, and she has
  been an active member of the Future Business Leaders of America;
  with scholarships from the Phi Beta Kappa Society and the Houston
  Livestock Show and Rodeo, she plans to continue her education at The
  University of Texas at Austin, where she hopes to pursue a degree in
  petroleum engineering; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Annie Truong has
  earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates at
  Sharpstown International School, and her exceptional scholastic
  ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the
  way to limitless opportunities for this remarkable young Texan;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Annie Truong, valedictorian of the
  Sharpstown International School Class of 2013, and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next
  exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Truong as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
