R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Annie Truong is graduating as the valedictorian of |
|
|
the senior class of Sharpstown International School on June 8, |
|
|
2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, Ms. |
|
|
Truong demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of |
|
|
subjects, and she has been recognized for her outstanding |
|
|
performance in government, biology, and algebra II; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Truong has further distinguished herself as |
|
|
treasurer of her school's chapter of the National Honor Society and |
|
|
as chief of staff of the Student Government Association, and she has |
|
|
been an active member of the Future Business Leaders of America; |
|
|
with scholarships from the Phi Beta Kappa Society and the Houston |
|
|
Livestock Show and Rodeo, she plans to continue her education at The |
|
|
University of Texas at Austin, where she hopes to pursue a degree in |
|
|
petroleum engineering; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Annie Truong has |
|
|
earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates at |
|
|
Sharpstown International School, and her exceptional scholastic |
|
|
ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the |
|
|
way to limitless opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Annie Truong, valedictorian of the |
|
|
Sharpstown International School Class of 2013, and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next |
|
|
exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Truong as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
