R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Meredith Earwood has provided valuable public
  service to the people of the great State of Texas as scheduler and
  legislative assistant in the office of State Representative Four
  Price since before the opening of the 83rd Texas Legislature; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Earwood has applied her academic knowledge and
  gained practical hands-on experience in Texas government through
  the Agricultural and Natural Resources Policy Internship Program of
  Texas A&M University; and
         WHEREAS, This accomplished young woman was selected for her
  internship assignment by the office of Representative Price after
  an extensive interview process, during which she stood out by
  virtue of her mature, well-reasoned, and succinct responses to the
  many and varied questions posed to intern candidates; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Earwood is capably handling the many diverse
  responsibilities assigned to her in the role of scheduler and
  legislative assistant; her key office duties have included relaying
  incoming communications to the appropriate office staff, greeting
  visitors, handling daily correspondence, and resolving constituent
  concerns; moreover, she has assisted with constituent casework,
  ensured the timely arrival of groups being recognized in the house
  chamber, overseen the representative's schedule, tracked
  agricultural and water policy issues, and met with constituent and
  advocacy groups regarding those policy areas; and
         WHEREAS, Known for her ardent commitment to agriculture, Ms.
  Earwood has interacted with numerous agricultural associations
  that have voiced positions on a host of legislative issues; she has
  also served during the session as the staffer assigned by the
  office's chief of staff to the House Natural Resources Committee,
  where she assisted Representative Price in successfully passing
  Senate Bill 1282, relating to groundwater districts; and
         WHEREAS, Well liked by her fellow Price staffers for her team
  spirit and can-do attitude, friendly personality, and strong
  "ranching" work ethic and habits, Ms. Earwood has consistently
  arrived well before the appointed time and readily worked late,
  remained calm and collected under pressure, demonstrated a genuine
  desire to learn any task she was assigned, and completed all her
  assignments in a responsible and timely fashion; and
         WHEREAS, After working this summer in Representative Price's
  Capitol office, Ms. Earwood will return for her senior year to her
  beloved Texas A&M University to complete her undergraduate degree
  in agricultural leadership and development; following graduation,
  she plans to pursue a master's degree in water management, and she
  is exploring the idea of attending law school; given her work ethic
  and the legislative experience she has gained at the Capitol, this
  Fightin' Texas Aggie will undoubtedly excel in achieving her future
  goals; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Meredith Earwood for her public service
  as scheduler and legislative assistant in the office of State
  Representative Four Price, thank her for her exemplary and noble
  work in behalf of the citizens of Texas, and extend to her sincere
  best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Earwood as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
