R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Courtney Head of Groom High School achieved great |
|
|
distinction by winning the 1A Division 2 bronze medal in the discus |
|
|
at the University Interscholastic League Track & Field State Meet |
|
|
on May 11, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Facing the top competitors in the state, Ms. Head |
|
|
turned in a remarkable performance, recording a distance of 123 |
|
|
feet, 11 inches, to claim third place in the event; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school track and field athletes, Courtney Head has become a |
|
|
source of pride for her family and school, and she will cherish her |
|
|
memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Courtney Head on her third-place |
|
|
finish in the 1A Division 2 discus competition at the UIL Track & |
|
|
Field State Meet and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Head as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
