R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Quinlin McGregor of Highland Park High School in
  Amarillo achieved great distinction by winning gold medals in the
  2A 3,200-meter and 1,600-meter races at the University
  Interscholastic League Track & Field State Meet on May 10 and 11,
  2013; and
         WHEREAS, Facing the top competitors in the state, Mr.
  McGregor turned in a pair of remarkable performances on successive
  days; he recorded a time of 9 minutes, 29.38 seconds, in the 3,200
  meters and eclipsed the 1,600-meter field in 4 minutes, 18.90
  seconds, to become the state champion in both events; and
         WHEREAS, Under the skillful guidance of his coach, Paul Bell,
  Quinlin McGregor has excelled in the state's premier showcase for
  high school track and field athletes, and he will cherish his
  memories of earning dual titles for years to come; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Quinlin McGregor on his
  first-place finishes in the 2A 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter events
  at the UIL Track & Field State Meet and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. McGregor as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
