R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Julian Silvestre of Tascosa High School in Amarillo |
|
|
earned fifth place in persuasive speaking for Division 5A at the |
|
|
2013 University Interscholastic League State Academic Meet in |
|
|
Austin on May 20-22, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Representing his school at the 2013 UIL District |
|
|
Meet, he excelled in competition and qualified to advance to |
|
|
regionals, where he again took top honors; he subsequently made his |
|
|
school proud at the state meet, squaring off against the best young |
|
|
Texans in his field; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, To perform at the highest level in statewide |
|
|
academic competition requires not only skill and intellect but also |
|
|
exceptional dedication, and Mr. Silvestre may reflect with pride on |
|
|
this notable achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Julian Silvestre for his outstanding |
|
|
performance at the 2013 UIL State Academic Meet and extend to him |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Silvestre as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
