R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Lauren Carter is graduating as the valedictorian of |
|
|
the 2013 senior class of Tuloso-Midway High School in Corpus |
|
|
Christi; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; Ms. Carter has demonstrated a thorough |
|
|
understanding of a wide range of subjects, with her favorites being |
|
|
Spanish, math, and science; in addition, she participated in |
|
|
numerous extracurricular activities, including mock trial, debate, |
|
|
FFA, the Discovery Club, and the National Honor Society; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Dan and Molly Carter, |
|
|
Ms. Carter will continue her education at Texas A&M University, |
|
|
where she plans to study computer and electrical engineering; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Lauren Carter has |
|
|
earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates, |
|
|
and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment |
|
|
to excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for |
|
|
this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Lauren Carter, valedictorian of |
|
|
the Tuloso-Midway High School Class of 2013, and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next |
|
|
exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Carter as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
