R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The city of Austin is widely known throughout the
  Lone Star State as a center for the performing arts, and that
  reputation is further enhanced by the contributions of individuals
  such as local actor and entrepreneur Matthew Redden; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Houston, Mr. Redden earned a bachelor's
  degree in musical theatre from Sam Houston State University and was
  accepted into the prestigious Broadway Theatre Project; he moved to
  New York City after graduation to pursue his career in theater, and
  while there he earned the opportunity to perform in Germany; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Redden came to Austin in 2010 after being cast in
  ZACH Theatre's The Drowsy Chaperone; he enjoyed the experience and
  the city so much that he decided to make Austin his home, and since
  then, he has played the lead role in ZACH's Xanadu and White
  Christmas; in addition to maintaining his involvement in local
  theater, he has built a loyal clientele as a hairstylist and worked
  for Austin Fashion Week; in 2013, he also became a small business
  owner with the opening of his salon, Solution for Hair and Makeup
  Austin; and
         WHEREAS, Matthew Redden has put a little extra spring in the
  step of many Austinites who have had the pleasure of seeing him
  work, and his countless fans are fortunate indeed to have the
  benefit of his talent and drive; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Matthew Redden for his accomplishments as
  an actor and small business owner and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Redden as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
