R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The city of Austin is widely known throughout the |
|
Lone Star State as a center for the performing arts, and that |
|
reputation is further enhanced by the contributions of individuals |
|
such as local actor and entrepreneur Matthew Redden; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Houston, Mr. Redden earned a bachelor's |
|
degree in musical theatre from Sam Houston State University and was |
|
accepted into the prestigious Broadway Theatre Project; he moved to |
|
New York City after graduation to pursue his career in theater, and |
|
while there he earned the opportunity to perform in Germany; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Redden came to Austin in 2010 after being cast in |
|
ZACH Theatre's The Drowsy Chaperone; he enjoyed the experience and |
|
the city so much that he decided to make Austin his home, and since |
|
then, he has played the lead role in ZACH's Xanadu and White |
|
Christmas; in addition to maintaining his involvement in local |
|
theater, he has built a loyal clientele as a hairstylist and worked |
|
for Austin Fashion Week; in 2013, he also became a small business |
|
owner with the opening of his salon, Solution for Hair and Makeup |
|
Austin; and |
|
WHEREAS, Matthew Redden has put a little extra spring in the |
|
step of many Austinites who have had the pleasure of seeing him |
|
work, and his countless fans are fortunate indeed to have the |
|
benefit of his talent and drive; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Matthew Redden for his accomplishments as |
|
an actor and small business owner and extend to him sincere best |
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Redden as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
