R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Larry A. Thomas has ably served his fellow Texans as
  a legislative aide in the office of State Representative Toni Rose
  during the 83rd Legislative Session; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Thomas brought to his role a range of
  experience, including serving as an administrative assistant for
  the Texas Residential Construction Commission, the Texas Water
  Development Board, and the Texas Education Agency, and as an
  executive assistant for the Office of the Fire Fighters' Pension
  Commissioner; and
         WHEREAS, An active member of his community, Mr. Thomas has
  been involved in a number of civic organizations; he served on the
  advisory panel of the Free Minds Project, a program offering free
  college-level humanities classes to low-income adults who have
  faced barriers to higher education, and he was the longtime project
  director of the Nineteenth Century African American Legislators
  Monument Project; the monument commemorates 52 African American
  legislators and delegates to constitutional conventions who
  contributed to Texas in the late 1800s and now stands in the Texas
  State Cemetery; and
         WHEREAS, This outstanding Texan has performed his duties as a
  legislative aide with skill and dedication, and he is indeed
  deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Larry A. Thomas for his service as a
  legislative aide in the office of State Representative Toni Rose
  and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in all
  his endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Thomas as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
