R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Larry A. Thomas has ably served his fellow Texans as |
|
a legislative aide in the office of State Representative Toni Rose |
|
during the 83rd Legislative Session; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Thomas brought to his role a range of |
|
experience, including serving as an administrative assistant for |
|
the Texas Residential Construction Commission, the Texas Water |
|
Development Board, and the Texas Education Agency, and as an |
|
executive assistant for the Office of the Fire Fighters' Pension |
|
Commissioner; and |
|
WHEREAS, An active member of his community, Mr. Thomas has |
|
been involved in a number of civic organizations; he served on the |
|
advisory panel of the Free Minds Project, a program offering free |
|
college-level humanities classes to low-income adults who have |
|
faced barriers to higher education, and he was the longtime project |
|
director of the Nineteenth Century African American Legislators |
|
Monument Project; the monument commemorates 52 African American |
|
legislators and delegates to constitutional conventions who |
|
contributed to Texas in the late 1800s and now stands in the Texas |
|
State Cemetery; and |
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding Texan has performed his duties as a |
|
legislative aide with skill and dedication, and he is indeed |
|
deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Larry A. Thomas for his service as a |
|
legislative aide in the office of State Representative Toni Rose |
|
and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in all |
|
his endeavors; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Thomas as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
