R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The 80th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed
  cause for celebration, and James Mitchell Jackson, Sr., of
  Galveston is marking that impressive milestone in his life on June
  4, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, Born on the island in 1933, James Jackson has been a
  dedicated member of the community all his life; on January 5, 1957,
  he was united in matrimony with his wife, Naomi, and together they
  became the parents of four children, Constance, Angela, James, and
  Nathan; today, they also enjoy  a special relationship with their
  four grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan's career included notable
  tenures with Moody State School, Moody National Bank, and Galveston
  Wharf Company; following his retirement, he has remained active
  through his volunteer work with The Jesse Tree and CHRISTUS Our
  Daily Bread; also devoted to his faith, he attends St. Luke Baptist
  Church, where he enjoys the fellowship of other congregants each
  week; and
         WHEREAS, Kind, generous, and hardworking, James Jackson is a
  source of inspiration to all who are fortunate enough to know him,
  and it is truly a pleasure to honor him for his accomplishments
  during 80 years of life well lived; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor James Mitchell Jackson, Sr., on his 80th
  birthday and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  happiness and good fortune; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Jackson as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
