R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, During the 83rd Legislative Session, Meagan Taylor |
|
Harding has ably served her fellow Texans as a legislative aide in |
|
the office of State Representative Ruth Jones McClendon; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Harding has played an |
|
active role in conducting research, preparing bill analyses, |
|
drafting and revising bills, filing and advocating for legislation, |
|
meeting with constituents, and drafting talking points for |
|
legislative hearings; she has performed these duties with energy |
|
and intelligence, and her initiative and hard work have contributed |
|
greatly to the effectiveness of the representative's office; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Harding earned her bachelor's degree in |
|
communication studies and human relations from The University of |
|
Texas at Austin in 2008, and in May 2012, she graduated from the UT |
|
School of Law, where she was a staff member of the Texas Journal on |
|
Civil Liberties & Civil Rights, vice president of the Thurgood |
|
Marshall Legal Society, and winner of Best Respondent's Brief and |
|
Best Advocate at the Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition; she |
|
was admitted to the state bar in November 2012; and |
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|
duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is |
|
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Meagan Taylor Harding for her service as |
|
a legislative aide in the office of State Representative Ruth Jones |
|
McClendon and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Harding as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
