A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
| |
|
|
relating to the development, hosting, and management of computer |
|
|
software for state agencies. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 2054, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 2054.0521 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 2054.0521. SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT, HOSTING, AND |
|
|
MANAGEMENT. (a) In this section, "state agency" means a |
|
|
department, commission, board, office, council, authority, or |
|
|
other agency in the executive, legislative, or judicial branch of |
|
|
state government that is created by the constitution or a statute of |
|
|
this state, including a university system or institution of higher |
|
|
education as defined by Section 61.003, Education Code. |
|
|
(b) Using existing resources, the department shall provide |
|
|
for the coordinated development, hosting, and management of |
|
|
computer software for state agencies. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The Department of Information Resources shall |
|
|
comply with the requirements of Section 2054.0521, Government Code, |
|
|
as added by this Act, not later than January 1, 2015. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
