A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to the reexamination of an applicant for a professional
  counselor license.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subsection (b), Section 503.307, Occupations
  Code, is amended to read as follows:
         (b)  An applicant who has failed three [two] successive
  examinations may not reapply for another examination before:
               (1)  the second anniversary of the date of the last
  examination taken by the applicant; or
               (2)  the date the applicant has satisfactorily
  completed nine graduate semester hours in the applicant's weakest
  portion of the examination.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
