A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a semiannual report on revenue collections prepared by |
|
|
the comptroller. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 403, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 403.0143 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 403.0143. REPORT ON REVENUE COLLECTED. (a) Every six |
|
|
months, the comptroller shall report to the legislature and the |
|
|
governor on the total amount of revenue collected in the six-month |
|
|
period preceding the report. |
|
|
(b) The report must be similar in format and detail to the |
|
|
comptroller's statement required by Section 49a, Article III, Texas |
|
|
Constitution, and must compare, for the six-month period covered by |
|
|
the report, the actual revenue collected to the estimate of |
|
|
anticipated revenue contained in the statement. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The first report required under Section |
|
|
403.0143, Government Code, as added by this Act, is due January 15, |
|
|
2014, and must cover the period from July 1, 2013, to January 1, |
|
|
2014. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
