A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
relating to parking near the State Capitol for a state employee |
|
whose presence at the Capitol is requested by a member of the |
|
legislature. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 411.063, Government Code, is amended by |
|
adding Subsection (c-1) to read as follows: |
|
(c-1) Rules adopted under this section must include a |
|
provision that allows a state employee whose presence at the |
|
Capitol is requested by a member of the legislature to park free of |
|
charge in a parking garage or parking lot near the Capitol. |
|
SECTION 2. Section 2165.2035, Government Code, is amended |
|
by adding Subsection (g-1) to read as follows: |
|
(g-1) Any lease of a state-owned parking lot or garage near |
|
the State Capitol under this section must provide that a state |
|
employee whose presence at the Capitol is requested by a member of |
|
the legislature may park free of charge in the lot or garage. |
|
SECTION 3. (a) The State Preservation Board shall adopt or |
|
amend rules, as applicable, as required by Section 411.063(c-1), |
|
Government Code, as added by this Act, not later than October 1, |
|
2013. |
|
(b) Section 2165.2035(g-1), Government Code, as added by |
|
this Act, applies only to a lease entered into on or after the |
|
effective date of this Act. |
|
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
