A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to specialty license plates issued to retired members of |
|
|
the United States armed forces. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 504.303, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsections (b) and (c) to read as follows: |
|
|
(b) The department shall include the word "Retired" for |
|
|
license plates issued to retired members of the United States armed |
|
|
forces who have completed 20 or more years of satisfactory federal |
|
|
service. |
|
|
(c) A letter from the United States Department of Defense, |
|
|
the Department of the Army, or the Department of the Air Force |
|
|
stating that a retired member has 20 or more years of satisfactory |
|
|
federal service is satisfactory proof of eligibility. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
