A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
| |
|
|
relating to the provision of fire prevention or fire-fighting |
|
|
services by certain emergency services districts. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 775.031, Health and Safety Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(b-1) A district that was formerly a rural fire prevention |
|
|
district that is not otherwise prohibited by statute from providing |
|
|
fire prevention or fire-fighting services may provide those |
|
|
services. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act is a |
|
|
clarification of existing law and does not imply that existing law |
|
|
may be construed as inconsistent with the law as amended by this |
|
|
Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
