A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the automatic recurring payment of State Bar of Texas |
|
|
membership and additional fees. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 81.054, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (m) to read as follows: |
|
|
(m) The state bar by rule shall adopt a system under which a |
|
|
member may schedule payment of membership fees and additional fees |
|
|
on an automatic and recurring basis. The state bar shall notify the |
|
|
member of an increase in fees not later than the 30th day before the |
|
|
date the payment is scheduled to occur. |
|
|
SECTION 2. As soon as possible after the effective date of |
|
|
this Act, the State Bar of Texas shall adopt rules providing for the |
|
|
system required by Section 81.054(m), Government Code, as added by |
|
|
this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
