SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 14
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Thomas Lynnwood Clark
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Thomas Lynnwood Clark, who died
  November 16, 2012, at the age of 85; and
         WHEREAS, Thomas Clark was born March 10, 1927, in Sweetwater;
  determined to serve his country, he left high school during World War
  II and joined the United States Merchant Marine; after the war, he
  returned to Texas, where he served as a preacher at various Churches
  of Christ across the state; and
         WHEREAS, He resumed military service during the Korean
  War, joining the United States Air Force and working as a welfare
  specialist in the Chaplain Section; after his discharge in 1955,
  he worked for the Atomic Energy Commission, among other jobs,
  before joining the United States Postal Service in Seguin, where
  he worked until his retirement; and
         WHEREAS, A devout Christian who practiced his faith in his
  daily life, Mr. Clark was a member of Walnut Street Church of
  Christ; he was a lifelong Democrat and an avid outdoorsman and
  fisherman who was always willing to help others and brought
  warmth and cheer into the lives of everyone he knew; and
         WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather,
  and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his
  family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Thomas Lynnwood Clark; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Thomas Lynnwood Clark.
