SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 25
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  James Andrew Bridges
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Mansfield in mourning the loss of James Andrew
  Bridges, who died December 20, 2012, at the age of 80; and
         WHEREAS, Jim Bridges was born December 21, 1931, in
  Cleburne; he graduated from Texas Wesleyan College, where he met
  Mary Helen Wakefield, the woman who would be his wife and the love
  of his life; they were blessed with three children, who provided
  them much happiness and joy; and
         WHEREAS, The couple founded Jim Bridges Sporting Goods and
  managed the business for 30 years and Jim also owned and managed
  Forest Hill Swim Club; the couple enjoyed spending time at their
  lake house and their annual vacations to Lake City, Colorado; and
         WHEREAS, A man of many interests and hobbies, Jim enjoyed
  fly-fishing, gardening, and canning fresh vegetables; he was devoted
  to his family, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were
  the light of his life; and
         WHEREAS, He was an exemplary gentleman who was noted for
  his generous spirit and good-naturedness, and he was respected in
  the community for his accomplishments; and
         WHEREAS, A man of integrity and strong character, Jim
  Bridges was beloved by many, and he will long be remembered with
  affection and appreciation by those who were privileged to share
  in his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of James Andrew Bridges; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Jim Bridges.
