SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 52
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Howard Jacobs, who died January 4, 2013,
  at the age of 72; and
 
         WHEREAS, Mr. Jacobs was born December 14, 1940; he served
  in the United States Air Force and in the civil service for many
  years and was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War; and
 
         WHEREAS, He was a longtime member of the Ancient Free and
  Accepted Masons and was a 33rd degree Mason with Kelly Lodge 1131
  and Somerset Lodge 1205; and
 
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he
  gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued
  counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and
 
         WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and
  grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured
  forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
  bereaved family of Howard Jacobs: his wife, Carol Lee; his
  children, Robert Earl, Penny Lee, Jodi Elaine, and Edward Howard;
  his siblings; and his 10 grandchildren and eight
  great-grandchildren; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Howard Jacobs.
