SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 73
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
join Texans across the state in celebrating Children's Advocacy
Centers of Texas Legislative Day at the Capitol; and
WHEREAS, The mission of the Children's Advocacy Centers of
  Texas is to restore the lives of abused and neglected children;
composed of 66 centers distributed across the state, this
exemplary organization works with local communities and agencies
to protect the right of children to be safe, secure, and free from
  violence; and
WHEREAS, The centers bring together such disparate
disciplines as law enforcement, child protective services, and
mental and medical health services to create a collaborative
approach to investigating and prosecuting child abuse; this
cooperative effort results in the prompt and effective sharing of
information and evidence and works to diminish the sometimes
traumatic effects of the investigative process; and
WHEREAS, The Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas provides
young victims with the services they need and raises public
awareness about the need to protect children; it is truly fitting
that this outstanding organization be recognized for its many
  achievements; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, hereby commend the Children's Advocacy Centers of
Texas on their exceptional efforts to help ensure that abused
children receive justice and extend best wishes for a memorable
Legislative Day at the Capitol; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas
  Senate.
