Albert Byron Sibbet |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|
|
commemorates the life of Albert Byron Sibbet, who died January 9, |
|
|
2013, at the age of 66; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Byron Sibbet was born October 30, 1945, in Fort |
|
|
Worth; he attended York Christian College and Abilene Christian |
|
|
University and earned a degree in business from McMurry |
|
|
University; he married Joan Hatfield in 1973 and the couple |
|
|
raised a daughter, Staci, who blessed them with a grandchild, |
|
|
Taylor; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Sibbet began his professional career with Hobbs |
|
|
Trailers in Fort Worth; he went on to work at Bell Helicopter and |
|
|
later joined the staff of Lockheed Martin; after his retirement, he |
|
|
obtained a real estate license and worked for Keller Williams |
|
|
Realty in Southlake; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, He became interested in politics while still in |
|
|
high school, and he drew on that attraction later in life by |
|
|
running for and serving in elected office; he served as a city |
|
|
councilmember in North Richland Hills and was mayor pro tempore |
|
|
for a decade; he was president of Midcities Democrats and served |
|
|
as an election judge; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he gave |
|
|
unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel |
|
|
will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, |
|
|
and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his |
|
|
family and many friends; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd |
|
|
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|
|
family of Albert Byron Sibbet; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
|
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
|
memory of Albert Byron Sibbet. |
