SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 96
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Gregorio Ramirez
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Gregorio Ramirez,
  who died January 16, 2013, at the age of 76; and
         WHEREAS, Gregorio Ramirez was born May 22, 1936, in
  Cotulla, Texas; he spent his early years in Cotulla, where he was
  an avid athlete, and he went on to serve his country as a member
  of the United States Navy; he and his wife, Angelena, were
  blessed with eight children, 23 grandchildren, and eight
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Ramirez was a devout Christian and a leader in
  his community; he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus
  and received the honors of the Fourth Degree as Sir Knight
  Gregorio Ramirez; he attended Saint John Berchmans Catholic
  Church and was an inspiration to his community; and
         WHEREAS, Known for his loyalty and generous spirit,
  Mr. Ramirez was a source of strength to his family and friends,
  and he touched the lives of many people; and
         WHEREAS, Beloved for his wisdom and warmth, Gregorio
  Ramirez will long be remembered with affection and appreciation
  by all who were privileged to share in his life; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
  bereaved family of Gregorio Ramirez; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
  so in memory of Gregorio Ramirez.
