Christi Stanley |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|
|
citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Christi Stanley, |
|
|
who died January 21, 2013, at the age of 58; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Christi Stanley was born September 8, 1954, in |
|
|
Fort Worth; she married the love of her life, Jim Stanley, on |
|
|
February 14, 1987, and the couple raised three children, Amber, |
|
|
Jason, and Mary Katherine, who blessed them with nine |
|
|
grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Stanley played a vital role in the management |
|
|
of her husband's law firm, serving as office manager and |
|
|
directing the firm's large staff of attorneys and paralegals for |
|
|
more than 30 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, She was well known for her abilities in the field |
|
|
of historical restoration and was instrumental in the saving and |
|
|
preservation of the Walker Reeves home and the Japanese Cotton |
|
|
Embassy; she received awards for her work from such groups as the |
|
|
Fairmount Association and the National Register of Historic |
|
|
Places; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Stanley was a devout Christian who practiced |
|
|
her faith in her daily life; she also worked to support awareness |
|
|
and fundraising efforts for breast cancer and multiple |
|
|
sclerosis; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and determination, |
|
|
she gave unselfishly to others, and her optimistic spirit, her |
|
|
love of world travel, and her enthusiasm for living each day to |
|
|
the fullest will not be forgotten; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, |
|
|
and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by |
|
|
her family and countless friends; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
|
83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the |
|
|
bereaved family of Christi Stanley; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the |
|
|
Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do |
|
|
so in memory of Christi Stanley. |
