SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 194
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  join members of the Texas Community Association Advocates in
  celebrating February 12, 2013, as Texas Community Association
  Advocates Day at the State Capitol; and
 
         WHEREAS, Approximately 4.8 million Texans live in
  developments or neighborhoods represented by community
  associations, homeowners associations, and other managing
  bodies; and
 
         WHEREAS, These organizations, which number in the tens of
  thousands, employ countless workers throughout the state and are
  dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in their respective
  communities; and
 
         WHEREAS, Such groups often provide recreational and social
  opportunities that residents might not otherwise enjoy;
  amenities like swimming pools, playgrounds, lakes and ponds, and
  enhanced security are among the many benefits afforded by these
  entities; and
 
         WHEREAS, Most community associations have guidelines and
  safeguards that help protect property values in these enclaves;
  such governing groups help maintain a reasonable aesthetic
  uniformity, and they prevent degradation of common living
  spaces; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby commend the delegates of the Texas Community
  Association Advocates as they celebrate their day at the State
  Capitol; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
