SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 195
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in
  recognizing the Granger Independent School District on the
  occasion of the 125th anniversary of its founding; and
 
         WHEREAS, Located in Williamson County, the district has
  ardently upheld high educational standards since the Granger
  Common School District was founded in 1887, five years after the
  town of Granger originated as a railway junction; and
 
         WHEREAS, The Granger Independent School District serves
  prekindergarten through 12th grade students and has maintained
  its tradition of quality education through the commitment of its
  enthusiastic students, devoted parents, visionary district
  leaders, and exemplary faculty; and
 
         WHEREAS, This community-wide resolve to broaden the minds
  and horizons of youngsters may be linked to the establishment in
  1914 of the Hus Memorial School, a teacher enrichment program
  that seeks to continually improve public education; and
 
         WHEREAS, Today, the Granger Independent School District
  holds a Recognized rating from the Texas Education Agency, and
  its history as a source of knowledge and discipline is highly
  deserving of recognition; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  83rd Legislature, hereby commend the Granger Independent School
  District on its 125th anniversary and extend to it best wishes as
  it moves into the future; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the district as an expression of high regard from the Texas
  Senate.
