SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 214
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Brazoria County Cavalry on the occasion of its
  fifth anniversary, on January 28, 2013; and
 
         WHEREAS, The Brazoria County Cavalry is a special group of
  motorcyclists and patriots who dedicate their time to honoring
  the courageous men and women of Brazoria County who wear a
  uniform; and
 
         WHEREAS, Since its founding on January 28, 2008, the
  Brazoria County Cavalry has spent countless hours paying tribute
  to Brazoria County residents who serve in the military and in the
  county's law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and
  emergency medical services divisions; and
 
         WHEREAS, The cavalry honors these heroes in times of sorrow
  or celebration and participates in the annual Veterans Day
  Parade; its members also provide Christmas gifts to low-income
  children and help with the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Bell
  Ringing campaign; and
 
         WHEREAS, The cavalry has honored over 800 heroes, and its
  members are noted for reaching out in a variety of ways to help
  fulfill the needs of area citizens; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Brazoria County
  Cavalry for their tributes to those in uniform and for their
  invaluable volunteerism in their community and extend
  congratulations to the organization on the occasion of its fifth
  anniversary; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the Brazoria County Cavalry as an expression of esteem from the
  Texas Senate.
