SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 285
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay
  tribute to the Texas Heroes Foundation on the occasion of the
  organization's Texas Independence Day Celebration on March 2,
  2013; and
 
         WHEREAS, The Texas Heroes Foundation was established with
  the goal of educating people of all ages, particularly children,
  about Texas history; through disseminating information about the
  state's history, the members of the foundation strive to imbue in
  others a greater love and appreciation of Texas; and
 
         WHEREAS, The foundation has reached out to area students in
  public and private schools in Granbury and throughout Hood County
  and has invited them to contribute to the foundation's Texas
  Independence Day Celebration; and
 
         WHEREAS, Approximately 300 students will participate in a
  competition and educational fair for the celebration; they are
  entering projects for display in the historic Hood County
  Courthouse; the projects include models of historical events,
  artwork, and essays written about the state; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Texas Heroes
  Foundation on their exceptional endeavors to keep Texas history
  alive and pay tribute to the heroes of the Texas Revolution and
  extend best wishes to them and all participating students for a
  rewarding Texas Independence Day Celebration; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the foundation as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
