SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 301
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Gayla Dawn Morris
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the residents
  of Wichita Falls and Clay County in mourning the loss of Gayla Dawn
  Morris, who died January 21, 2013, at the age of 66; and
         WHEREAS, Born November 14, 1946, Gayla grew up to lead a
  gratifying life and to fill many roles; she became a devoted
  community servant, a mother, a realtor, and a bank vice president;
  and
         WHEREAS, A deeply committed woman of faith, Mrs. Morris
  taught Sunday school, led Bible studies, and was an elder at the
  First Christian Church in Wichita Falls; and
         WHEREAS, In her youth, Mrs. Morris attended Wichita Falls
  High School and Midwestern State University; after college, she
  developed a passion for volunteerism and focused her attention on
  the Junior League, the Parent Teacher Association, and the
  Heritage Society of Wichita Falls; and
         WHEREAS, After raising her two cherished daughters, Mrs.
  Morris began working for Bank One in Wichita Falls and was
  eventually appointed vice president; she also became a licensed
  realtor and enjoyed a successful career in real estate; and
         WHEREAS, In 1998, she and her husband and childhood
  sweetheart, Howard, moved to rural Clay County; there, the couple
  spent their time celebrating the fresh air and natural beauty of
  their beloved Texas; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Gayla Dawn Morris; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her family as an expression of sincere condolences from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Gayla Morris.
