SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 310

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to join the Rio Grande Valley delegation and Texans across the state in observing February 27, 2013, as Rio Grande Valley Day at the Capitol; and

WHEREAS, This special day celebrates the efforts of the citizens of the Rio Grande Valley to work together and to collectively promote economic development across the region; and

WHEREAS, The delegation is composed of representatives from Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, and Willacy Counties; these dedicated citizens have worked diligently to cultivate progress and prosperity, not only across their four counties but also throughout the state and across the border in the State of Tamaulipas, Mexico, the region's international neighbor; and

WHEREAS, The Rio Grande Valley has played an indispensable role in the growth, success, and vitality of our state; the cooperation demonstrated by the citizens of these four counties benefits the state's businesses and industries, and it is truly fitting that this valued region be recognized for its significant contributions to our state; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby welcome the delegation from Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, and Willacy Counties to Austin and extend to its members best wishes for a productive and successful Rio Grande Valley Day at the Capitol; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in honor of this special day.
