SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 320
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Eric D. Wallace
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  residents of Marlin, College Station, and Bryan as they mourn the
  loss of fallen hero Lieutenant Eric D. Wallace, who died in the
  line of duty on February 16, 2013, at the age of 36; and
         WHEREAS, This courageous firefighter, loving father, and
  dedicated community servant was a 13-year veteran of the Bryan
  Fire Department; and
         WHEREAS, Born June 24, 1976, in Washington, D.C.,
  Lieutenant Wallace grew up in Bremond, Texas, and graduated from
  high school in Iola; before his employment with the City of
  Bryan, he worked for Falls County Emergency Medical Services and
  served with the Marlin Volunteer Fire Department; and
         WHEREAS, Fighting fires and protecting others were
  responsibilities he cherished, and he lost his life while
  upholding those duties; he had previously been recognized for his
  valor and was honored by the 100 Club for his bravery while
  fighting a fire in 2009; he was also a leader of the Hazardous
  Materials Team and an instructor for the Citizen Fire Academy;
  and
         WHEREAS, Eric Wallace was a loving husband to his wife,
  Brandie, and a devoted father to their five children; he coached
  several sports in which his children participated, and he was a
  proud member of the Marlin Men's Civic Association, Marlin Lodge
  152 AF & AM, and International Association of Fire Fighters Local
  1203; and
         WHEREAS, This outstanding officer will long be revered for
  his commitment to his fellow citizens and his firefighting
  brethren, and he leaves behind memories that will be greatly
  cherished by his friends and family; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Lieutenant Eric D. Wallace; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Eric Wallace.
