SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 369
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Jose Luis Montenegro, Jr.
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  residents of San Juan, Texas, in mourning the loss of Chief
  Warrant Officer 2 Jose Luis Montenegro, Jr., who died September
  5, 2012, at the age of 31; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Brownsville, this valiant soldier gave
  his life while serving in Afghanistan; he was on his third tour of
  duty; and
         WHEREAS, Chief Warrant Officer Montenegro spent his
  formative years in San Juan and Clear Lake; he joined the United
  States Army and served as a pilot in F Troop, 1st Squadron, 17th
  Cavalry Regiment, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, from the
  esteemed 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg, North
  Carolina; and
         WHEREAS, This dedicated soldier inspired patriotism and
  hope in his fellow citizens; he was beloved by his friends and
  family for his courage, devotion, and generosity of spirit; and
         WHEREAS, In his spare time, Jose Luis enjoyed riding
  motorcycles, watching the Houston Texans play football, and
  spending time with his family and his dog, Adonis; and
         WHEREAS, As a soldier, a son, and a friend, this young man
  will long be remembered for his strength and his warrior's
  spirit; he leaves those who loved him with memories that will be
  treasured forever; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jose Luis Montenegro, Jr.; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Jose Luis Montenegro.
