SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 400
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Joseph Wayne Julien
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  residents of Benbrook in mourning the loss of retired veteran
  Joseph Wayne Julien, who died February 9, 2013, at the age of 81;
  and
         WHEREAS, Born August 16, 1931, in Howe, Joe Julien spent
  his early childhood in Texas; he later moved to Los Angeles and
  attended John A. Francis Polytechnic High School; in 1948, at the
  age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Air Force; he proudly
  served his country for 26 years and attained the rank of Air Force
  master sergeant; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Julien fought in both the Korean War and the
  Vietnam War; while assigned to the 301st Air Refueling Squadron,
  he completed 96 combat missions as a boom operator on KC-135s and
  KC-97s; he retired in 1975 as first sergeant at Carswell Air
  Force Base; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Julien was a life member of the Air Force
  Sergeants Association and a proud member of the Benbrook Veterans
  of Foreign Wars Post 10429; he also belonged to the Kansas Trap
  Shooters Association and the Fort Worth Trap and Skeet Club; and
         WHEREAS, He was devoted to his wife of 55 years, Coramae,
  and to his son, daughter, granddaughter, and
  great-granddaughter; he was beloved by many and admired for his
  courageous attitude toward life, and he leaves behind memories
  that will long be cherished by his friends and family; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
  bereaved family of Joseph Wayne Julien; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Joseph Julien.
