SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 405
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Herbert C. Sheppard
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Herbert C. Sheppard, who died February 1,
  2013; and
         WHEREAS, Herbert Sheppard was an exemplary citizen who was
  widely admired in his community for his many achievements and
  beloved for the profound impact he had on the lives of others; and
         WHEREAS, A devout Christian who practiced his faith in his
  daily life, Mr. Sheppard was a member of Bethlehem Baptist
  Church, where he served as a deacon and as superintendent of the
  Sunday school; he was a devotional leader for the Missionary
  Baptist General Convention of Texas and served as a featured
  speaker for the National Baptist Convention of America,
  Incorporated; and
         WHEREAS, He enjoyed a fulfilling professional career as a
  Federal Express employee, and he served his community as a member
  of the Elm Grove District Association Brotherhood and the Fort
  Worth City Wide Brotherhood Union; and
         WHEREAS, A man of integrity and generosity, he gave
  unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, his strength, and his
  enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be
  forgotten; and
         WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather,
  and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his
  family and countless friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Herbert C. Sheppard; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Herbert C. Sheppard.
