SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 408
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Alberto Kreimerman of McAllen, who was named a
  Neighborhood All-Star in the summer of 2012 for his outstanding
  community leadership; and
         WHEREAS, The award honors service-minded residents of the
  Rio Grande Valley and is given by the Valley Town Crier and the
  Edinburg Review; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Kreimerman is the founder of Hermes Music and
  the Hermes Music Foundation; a native of Argentina and a gifted
  musician and composer, he was selected for recognition due to his
  use of music and education to help socially, economically, and
  medically challenged children in the United States and Mexico;
  through his Project of Love, he has given hope and support to
  thousands of children; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Kreimerman opened the first Hermes Music
  store in McAllen in 1982 and nurtured it into a global business;
  since the store's opening, he has committed part of its earnings
  to multiple outreach programs focused on developing and
  enriching the lives of underserved children; and
         WHEREAS, As an artist himself, Mr. Kreimerman believes in
  the power of music to transform individuals; he established the
  Hermes Music Foundation in 2008, and over the years, he and his
  staff have given away thousands of musical instruments and helped
  pay for medical care and scholarships for children and families
  living in the Rio Grande Valley and in towns across Nevada,
  Florida, California, and Mexico; and
         WHEREAS, This outstanding philanthropist has enlisted such
  talented artists and personalities as Carlos Santana, Willie
  Nelson, Deepak Chopra, and B. B. King in his efforts to empower
  young people and help them achieve their potential; in
  particular, the programs he orchestrates are intended to benefit
  youths who face illness, disabilities, and extreme poverty; and
         WHEREAS, For his humanitarian efforts and generosity of
  spirit and for his untiring efforts to improve the lives of
  others, Mr. Kreimerman is indeed deserving of praise and
  recognition; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  83rd Legislature, hereby commend Alberto Kreimerman, a recipient of
  the Neighborhood All-Star award, for his outstanding community
  leadership and exceptional philanthropic endeavors and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  Mr. Kreimerman as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
