SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 426

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Joe Pulido, who is retiring March 31, 2013, from the Texas Lottery Commission after 28 years of outstanding service to the state; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Pulido began his career in state service in 1985 with the State Purchasing and General Services Commission; he went on to be a member of the team that initially launched Lotto Texas, and he played an important role in helping that project begin operations eight weeks ahead of schedule in November of 1992; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his career, he has been noted for his computer skills and expertise; he was instrumental in the online launch of seven additional lottery games, including Pick 3, Daily Four, Mega Millions, Powerball, and All or Nothing; and

WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, Mr. Pulido has handled his many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and dedication; he has for more than a decade volunteered with the Texas Lottery Additional Duty Safety Officer program, and he has served as the recycling coordinator for the holiday celebration committee; and

WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, he is respected and admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the Texas Lottery Commission will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby commend Joe Pulido on his exceptional service to the people of Texas as an employee of the Texas Lottery Commission and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
