SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 428

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the Centerville High School Lady Tigers basketball team for its outstanding season; and

WHEREAS, The Lady Tigers made their first trip to the Class 2A state basketball tournament after winning the Region III championship in several close games over formidable opponents; they advanced to the state tournament's semifinal game before falling to four-time defending state champion Brock High School; and

WHEREAS, These young athletes demonstrated great talent and perseverance over the course of the year and finished the season with a record of 30-7; team members can take great pride in their exemplary performance; and

WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of head coach James Crafton, the Lady Tigers have developed exceptional teamwork and discipline; and

WHEREAS, Centerville High School and the people of Centerville are proud of the Lady Tigers for their hard work, their impressive skills, and their fine sportsmanship; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby commend the Centerville High School Lady Tigers basketball team on its impressive season and extend to team members best wishes for continued success; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
