SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 434
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Lillie Biggins, who has been named the honoree of the |
|
|
19th Annual Circle of Excellence Black Tie Gala which is being |
|
|
held in honor of Women's History Month and is being sponsored by |
|
|
the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lillie Biggins is president of Texas Health |
|
|
Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth; she began her tenure at the |
|
|
hospital in 1997 as vice president of operations after having |
|
|
served in executive and clinical leadership positions at medical |
|
|
facilities across North Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of the John Peter Smith School of |
|
|
Nursing, she earned a bachelor's degree from The University of |
|
|
Texas at Arlington and a master's degree from Texas Woman's |
|
|
University; she is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare |
|
|
Executives; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, She is a member of the adjunct faculty at The |
|
|
University of Texas at Arlington and is active in numerous |
|
|
community and professional organizations; she has served on the |
|
|
boards of the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, the |
|
|
American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, and the |
|
|
North Texas Business Opportunities for Leadership Diversity; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, She has received many honors and accolades, such |
|
|
as the President's Call to Service Award; she was named Nurse of |
|
|
the Year and was included in the YWCA's Tribute to Women in |
|
|
Business and the Fort Worth Business Press Great Women of Texas; |
|
|
she is truly deserving of recognition for her exemplary |
|
|
contributions to her profession and her community; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Lillie Biggins on her exceptional |
|
|
achievements as a longtime health care veteran and volunteer and |
|
|
extend congratulations to her on her selection as the honoree of |
|
|
the 19th Annual Circle of Excellence Black Tie Gala by the Fort |
|
|
Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
